Preparing a quote, updating a work instruction, or trying to remember where that one drawing was stored. Every manufacturing company has tasks that take up a lot of time. AI can help make processes smarter and more efficient. But what actually works in practice, and where do you start?

AI-Hub Noord, Koninklijke Metaalunie, FME, GroBusiness, EDIH NN, YnBusiness, and IBDO are therefore jointly organizing a program for manufacturing companies in Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe. The program begins with an inspiration session on October 6 and is followed by three practical workshops in which you will work with an AI specialist to develop an application for your own company.

Inspiration Session: AI for the Manufacturing Industry

During the breakfast session, Bart Beima (AI-Hub Noord) and Arend-Jan Tissing (Get There) will take you through the current state of AI in SME workflows. Using real-world examples, including some from the engineering sector, you’ll discover what AI can do for your organization.

From administration and customer contact to process optimization and new revenue models. Organizational development and digital sovereignty will also be discussed. Be sure to bring a question or case study from your own company so you can immediately explore where opportunities lie for your organization.

Examples include automating a work process, knowledge management, or a chat assistant.

There are two groups with the same content:

Companies with 20 or more employees (FTE) – guidance provided by Get There
October 27, November 10, and December 3, 2026

Companies with up to 19 employees (FTE) – guidance provided by And AI
October 29, November 12, and November 26, 2026

The workshops will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the city of Groningen. The exact location will be announced later.
