We cordially invite you to the kick-off of the Ferry Go! project, focused on the development of (semi-)autonomous ferries in the German-Dutch Wadden Sea region. This event offers a unique opportunity to meet the experts behind this innovative project and join the discussion on the future of shipping.
Event details:
- Date: September 12, 2024
- Time: 12:30 - 6 p.m.
- Location: Ferry "Willem de Vlamingh" Harlingen-Terschelling-Harlingen
- Participation: By application. Maximum 80 places available
Why is this event important?
The Ferry Go! project aims to analyze and test the perspectives and concrete requirements for the use of (semi-)autonomous ferries. At a time when the shipping industry is under pressure due to a shortage of skilled labor and increasing demands for efficiency, safety and sustainability, autonomous ferrying offers promising solutions.
With Ferry Go! we aim to develop a system for autonomous ferries in the Wadden Sea, where largely unmanned ship operations are possible. Only in emergencies is human interaction required. During this event, real test results and insights into the requirements for these technologies will be shared.
What to expect.
- Interactive Discussions: Join the discussion on technical, nautical, and legal aspects of autonomous boating.
- Insights from the Field: Find out how passengers and crew experience autonomous ferry travel.
- Networking: Meet the project partners and other stakeholders.
