Mobility Sector
Cities are closing, rural areas are becoming less accessible, fossil fuels are going out of business. The mobility sector, whether we are talking about road, water or air transport, is facing a reform of the old system.
The challenges and opportunities
At EDIH NN, we support organizations in addressing shared mobility challenges through the deployment of technologies that can act on their own (autonomous systems). To address the challenges of traffic congestion and road safety, we are faced with the task of rethinking our transportation system. Although cities are currently struggling with congestion, this presents an opportunity to develop innovative solutions that improve quality of life and facilitate mobility. In rural areas, we can fill the void left by public transportation by introducing creative, sustainable transportation options and partnering with local communities. Our waterways, with their ships and ferries, are on the verge of transformation due to investments in efficiency and energy-efficient technologies. All this development is creating new jobs and a dynamic, future-proof infrastructure.
The role of autonomous vehicles and vessels
(Semi) autonomous vehicles and vessels play a crucial role in the more efficient use of space and energy. This allows us to ensure the accessibility and livability of cities, water (and islands), as well as the countryside.
