EDIH NN is a European project for the northern Netherlands

The European Digital Innovation Hub Northern Netherlands (EDIH NN) stands for accelerating the digitization of the Northern Netherlands. We do this by supporting your company in general digitization issues and the development of autonomous systems, such as unmanned and self-learning technologies.

Two lines

Whereas the public sector in the Northern Netherlands is among the frontrunners in terms of digitization, industry, on average, is lagging behind. This is not without risks, as industry is and remains an essential part of the Northern earning model. Digitization offers unprecedented opportunities, but companies must catch up. Against this background, EDIH Noord Nederland is simultaneously committed to addressing any backlog (through generic services around digitization) and creating a strong position for the future.

In addition to generic services to accelerate digitization at companies, the EDIH-NN is going to put extra effort into Autonomous Systems. The Northern Netherlands is a real transition economy and autonomous systems play a key role in it. Further strengthening ourselves in this area in particular will create a continuous flow of new opportunities for companies. The Northern Netherlands (both in the knowledge institutions and companies) has sufficient basic expertise to grow into a national and international leader in this field. This knowledge base will be expanded through the EDIH-NN in the coming years.

As one of five Dutch hubs, EDIH NN is affiliated with a national organization and is connected to other EDIHs in the Netherlands. In addition, EDIH NN is part of the European network of Digital Innovation Hubs, a European-funded initiative that enhances digital capabilities and knowledge of SMEs to accelerate digital transformation in Europe and remain competitive with intercontinental markets.

Our Hub is supported and funded by the European Commission, Ministry of Economy and Environment and the three Northern provinces.
